Dan Quinn is the perfect culture-changer Commanders needed

Some 20 minutes after the Commanders upset the No. 1-seeded Lions 45-31 in the NFC divisional playoff game Saturday night at Ford Field, in the bowels of the stadium outside the visitors locker room, a group of people, led by Washington’s new principal owner, Josh Harris, celebrated.

Among them were former Washington head coach Joe Gibbs, who led the then-Redskins to three Super Bowls, former Washington quarterback Doug Williams, NBA star Kevin Durant, a Maryland native whose Phoenix Suns played at the Pistons earlier in the day, and former NBA star Magic Johnson, a minority owner of the team.

Johnson, who knows a thing or two about winning championships, having won five of them with the Lakers, beamed at a gathering of reporters and simply said, “Beautiful.’’

“Make sure you take care of those guys in there,’’ he added, pointing to the Commanders locker room.
