Elon Musk could soon be sitting down with Jon Stewart, after the head of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) expressed a willingness to go on “The Daily Show” following fierce criticism from its Monday host.
“I will do it if the show airs unedited,” Musk said on X on Tuesday in response to a post urging him to appear on “The Daily Show.”
“The Daily Show’s” social media account replied to Musk on Wednesday, “We’d be delighted!”
The possible booking comes after Stewart suffered an injury to his hand while railing against DOGE for its sweeping cuts to the federal workforce on Monday’s show on Comedy Central.
The comedian smashed a mug into pieces on his desk with his bare hand as part of his monologue.
“We are DOGEing in the wrong place if we really want to change the system,” Stewart said, before briefly showing his bloodied hand to the audience.
When reached by ITK, “The Daily Show” declined to comment further on the possibility of a Musk sit-down.
