(NEXSTAR) — Costco is bringing its behemoth retail warehouses (and nearly as behemoth hot dogs) to seven new locations across several states in 2025, the company announced.
All but one of the planned U.S. locations are scheduled to open in March, per the company’s website.
It’s likely that additional Costco openings will be announced in subsequent updates, considering the dozens of Costco locations that opened in 2024, and the nearly two-dozen that opened in 2023.
As of Thursday, however, Costco’s upcoming openings have been announced for the following locations in March and April:
- Brentwood, California (March 2025)
- Highland, California (March 2025)
- Stuart, Florida (April 2025)
- Sharon, Massachusetts (March 2025)
- Genessee County, Michigan (March 2025)
- Prosper, Texas (March 2025)
- Weatherford, Texas (March 2025)
In its update, Costco also announced the opening of two international warehouses — one in Minami-Alps, in Japan’s Yamanashi prefecture, and one in Ardeer, in Victoria, Australia.
Costco’s website did not offer any details concerning specific opening dates, nor whether the company plans to announce additional openings in subsequent updates. A representative for Costco was not immediately available to provide further information.
Judging by Costco’s recent growth, it’s clear that the company has plans to open more than just seven U.S. locations in 2025. During the 2024 fiscal year, Costco opened 29 total locations, including 23 in the U.S. And in 2023, Costco opened 23 total locations, with 13 in the U.S.
Costco CEO Ron Vachris had also said in December 2024 that the company is hoping to open 29 new locations (including three relocated warehouses) in 2025. Nineteen of those are planned for the U.S., he said.
Costco has yet to reveal which other markets could get a new store. Reports from Nexstar’s WHTM and KTLA indicate there are locations in development in Cumberland County, Pennsylvania, and another in South Los Angeles, though it’s unclear when those might open.
