Some of the biggest names in Saturday Night Live‘s storied past have been joining Jenna Bush Hager this week on Today With Jenna & Friends to dish on the funniest and messiest moments from the show. But Cheri Oteri left Bush Hager shocked during Thursday’s (Feb. 13) broadcast when she revealed she once kissed a SNL host at one of the show’s infamous after parties.
When Bush Hager asked Oteri what was the “wildest thing” she ever did at the SNL after party, the Scary Movie actress coyly confessed she once “kissed a host.”
“You kissed a host?” Bush Hager responded in shock. “Excuse me.” She then asked if Oteri was willing to share who it was, but the SNL alum declined.
“No, you’re not gonna know,” Oteri replied, before recounting the steamy story to Bush Hager, “I was very shy but I said, ‘Can I kiss you?’ And he said sure, and I did and then it was just a very nice [kiss], you know.” She admitted that she cut the kiss short when her “shyness got a hold of” her. “I was so brave,” she said.
She added, “And I said, ‘That was nice, thanks,’ and he said, ‘That was it? I can do better.’”
Bush Hager appeared to be in shock by Oteri’s confession. “Were y’all flirting and then all of a sudden you said, ‘Can I kiss you?’” she asked.
Oteri, who was on the show from 1995 to 2000, admitted she simply complimented his performance that evening when she caught the unnamed host on his way to the bathroom. “I can’t believe I did that,” she said.
“You are inspiring a lot of ladies right now,” Bush Hager commented, noting Valentine’s Day is just a day away. She later told the SNL star the story was getting her “all steamy.”
“I don’t think he knew how I meant it, he was being very careful. So it was just a very nice kiss, and then he said, ‘You know I can do better,’ and I was like, ‘Oh, I’m sure you can,’ but that was nice,” Oteri recounted. “That’s probably the wildest thing I ever did.”
