Channing Tatum vows he’ll never do ‘fat roles’ again after latest films as he flaunts body transformation

Channing Tatum is cutting the fat from his Hollywood roles.

The 44-year-old actor, known for his roles in “Magic Mike” and “21 Jump Street,” said he will refuse to work in future films that take a drastic toll on his body.

“I won’t be doing any more fat roles,” Tatum said on Instagram on Friday. “It’s to[o] hard on the body and to[o] hard to take off now. But damn when I look at these pics, it’s just wild what the human body and will can do.”

Tatum shared three images of himself at various weights — two of which were drastic weight cuts and gains in preparation for filming.

The first image showed Tatum snapping a window selfie of his body on Friday, where he weighed 205 pounds.

In the photo, he wore black underwear partially covered by a white towel as his muscular, tan body shimmered in the sunlight.

He then shared a black and white bathroom mirror selfie when he was required to weigh in at 235 pounds for his role as “Damien” in the upcoming thriller-drama “Josephine.”

The ‘White House Down” star then revealed he was forced to cut down to 175 pounds for the true crime film “Roofman,” which he filmed in late 2024.

“I’m so grateful for my genetics,” Tatum added. “Grateful for my chef/nutritionist/witch. Grateful for my trainer. I couldn’t make these big swings in my weight without you guys.”

The Hollywood hunk made a name for himself by taking on a series of physically demanding roles over his career.

The star was cast as a stripper in “Magic Mike,” a dancer in Ricky Martin’s “She Bangs” music video and a soccer player in the 2006 comedy “She’s the Man” starring Amanda Bynes.

But his body and heart were put to the test when he landed the lead role as Tyler Gage in the 2006 dance movie Step Up.

The physical film turned into an off-camera romance with his co-star Jenna Dewan.

Tatum and Dewan got married in 2009, welcomed a daughter in 2013 and officially divorced in 2024 after a long six-year battle.

Tatum went public with his relationship with Zoë Kravitz in 2021. They got engaged in October 2023 but called it off in late 2024.

The actor is currently dating 25-year-old Australian model Inka Williams.

In 2024, Adrian Brody warned about the potential psychological toll actors face while cutting weight.

The Oscar-winner, 51, said he got PTSD when he went on a near-starvation diet so he could lose 30 pounds for the 2002 Holocaust drama “The Pianist.”

“That was a physical transformation that was necessary for storytelling,” Brody told New York Magazine. “But then that kind of opened me up, spiritually, to a depth of understanding of emptiness and hunger in a way that I didn’t know, ever.”
