A new era of Live with Kelly and Mark is almost here!
Just ahead of introducing guest Jenny Mollen on Monday, Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos teased tomorrow’s (April 1) episode, which marks their “very last show” in their Upper West Side studio prior to their move downtown.
As they were dishing on the details of the farewell special — including some of their “favorite moments” and “memories” from both the co-hosts and celebrities — the camera began to shake.
“This studio is breaking down. The monitor just fell off the camera,” Ripa said amid laughter. “It’s time to go, everybody!”
Consuelos quipped in a whisper, “Get out!”
In addition to hearing from their “families who have grown up here” and “members of the Live staff” on tomorrow’s show, Ripa and Consuelos teased a “mystery guest” who will be making their milestone 100th appearance on Live.
“Who’s been on this show 100 times? Let’s try to figure it out. Let me start counting,” Ripa joked.
Debuting as Live with Regis and Kathie Lee in 1988, Live has aired under several iterations. However, the daytime talk show has resided in the same studio on 67th and Columbus for nearly four decades. Ripa became a co-host alongside Regis Philbin in 2001, and has become a Live mainstay, with her husband joining her in April 2023.
Live EP Michael Gelman told DECIDER back in September that the show has “always been kind of a faux husband and wife set-up, where it’s these two interesting people who are sitting next to each other, having coffee every morning together.”
As Gelman noted, Consuelos taking the job as Ripa’s co-host only made things more authentic, for “what used to be a part-time fill-in for Mark now is the full-time job for both of them, and it’s just fantastic.”
Live with Kelly and Mark airs on weekdays. Check out their website for your local listings.
