Bronx man charged with murder in death of Peter Forrest

A man has been arrested and charged in the murder of a pioneering musician whose body was found lying face-down in a pool of blood inside a private ambulette in the Bronx this week, cops announced Friday.

Sharief Bodden, 29, of the Bronx, was charged with second-degree murder, first-degree manslaughter and drug and weapon possession in connection to the death of Peter Forrest, 64, who was discovered inside the parked bus on Castle Hill Avenue around 10:30 a.m. Monday, according to police.

Forrest – who was employed by the Long Island-based Marquis Ambulette – was pronounced dead at the scene and sustained trauma all over his body, authorities said. 

The exact circumstances behind his murder remain unclear.

The victim, who lived about 5 miles away in the Allerton neighborhood, was part of the original lineup of South Bronx-based rock band 24-7 Spyz under pseudonym P. Fluid, the Daily News reported.

The group once opened for Jane’s Addiction on their Ritual de lo Habitual tour. Forrest later formed P.Fluid and the P.Fluid Foundation before launching his first solo act, BlkVampires.

Forrest was a founding member of the Black Rock Coalition, according to his former girlfriend, who described him as a good person who loved music and took pride in advancing black rock.

The city’s medical examiner’s office will determine the cause of death, cops said.
