Border czar Tom Homan vows to ‘eradicate’ every criminal migrant from US

President Trump’s border czar Tom Homan on Monday vowed not to stop until every criminal migrant is “eradicated” — as he touted a staggering drop in daily encounters at the US border.

“In the last 24 hours the US Border Patrol has encountered a total of 229 aliens across the entire southwest border. That is down from a high of over 11,000 a day under Biden,” Homan said in an X post.

“I started as a Border Patrol Agent in 1984 and I don’t remember the numbers ever being that low.”

“President Trump promised a secure border and he is delivering,” he added.

The figures emerged as Homeland Security data showed the number of arrests of migrants with criminal records and suspected gangbangers had soared under the Trump administration’s nationwide immigration crackdown.

In the first 18 days since Trump’s inauguration, the number of migrants arrested with criminal histories was up 98% compared to same time last year, according to the figures obtained by Fox News.

The arrests of suspected gang members also surged 105% compared to last year, the data from Jan. 20 to Feb. 8 showed.

“At last count we had almost 600,000 illegal aliens in the United States with a criminal conviction. I won’t be happy until we eradicate every one of those,” Homan said during an appearance on “America’s Newsroom.”

“As far as [Tren de Aragua], we’ve got a few more hundred TdA to look for. They’re our priority.”

“Right now, we’re concentrating on public safety threats, which is the right thing to do,” he added.

Meanwhile, the drop in overall border crossings came as a migrant shelter in San Diego — a favorite spot for migrants to illegally slip across the US-Mexico border — revealed it was shuttering due to no new asylum seekers being released to them since President Trump’s inauguration.

Since the Trump administration axed the CBP One phone app last month, the Jewish Family Service of San Diego hasn’t received a single migrant.

“With migrants no longer able to use the CBP One application, the San Diego Rapid Response Network (SDRRN) Migrant Shelter Services, operated by JFS, has not received new asylum-seeking families and individuals released from short term federal custody into our care,” a statement from the non-profit said.

“Due to these changes in federal funding and policy, the SDRRN Migrant Shelter Services will be paused until there is better understanding of future community needs.”

The group said it would be shifting now to provide “bono legal services” for migrants instead.

“We’ve been preparing for these changes in federal policies and enforcement,” they said.

“While there are no longer individuals or families seeking asylum released from short-term federal immigration custody to our shelter services, we are seeing increased needs for immigration legal assistance and other social service supports to vulnerable San Diegans.”
