Bomb threat interrupts DC’s ‘Anti-Trump CPAC’ summit

The Principles First summit in DC — dubbed by some as the “Anti-Trump CPAC” — was interrupted by a bomb threat Sunday.

The threat to the event came from an online poster with the moniker “Enrique T” — similar to the name of the ex-leader of the notorious Proud Boys, Enrique Tarrio — and said it was made “to honor the J6 hostages,” an apparent reference to those imprisoned over crimes tied to the Jan. 6 riots, summit organizers said.

“Hotel security, private security, and [Metropolitan Police Department of the District of Columbia] have made the decision to evacuate Summit floor so that the area can be secured,” the organizers wrote on X.

“We intend to reconvene and continue with the summit,” said the group — filled with disaffected conservatives and moderates who were staging their event as the high-profile pro-Trump Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) was under way nearby.

Featured guests at the Principles First event, which began Friday, include billionaire Mark Cuban, former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R), ex-Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-Ill.) and former National Security Adviser John Bolton.

An MPD rep told The Post there had been an emailed threat at the JW Marriott Hotel where the summit was held but that there was “no validity to the threat found so far.”

The emailed threat claimed to have “constructed four pipe bombs” and said that some of the key headliners of the summit “deserve to die,” authorities said.

On Friday, Tarrio, who had been sentenced to 22 years behind bars over the rioting before getting pardoned by President Trump, was arrested near the Capitol for allegedly assaulting a female protester.

On Saturday, he shared footage of himself walking behind Michael Fanone, Harry Dunn and Aquilino Gonell — officers who had defended the Capitol during the Jan. 6, 2021, riot.

Principles First has held annual gatherings to counter Trump and the MAGA influence for the past five years.
