The body of a man with a prosthetic leg was found floating near the Brooklyn Bridge on Tuesday morning, cops and law-enforcement sources said.
A witness spotted the corpse in the East River near Pier 1 at Furman and Old Fulton streets around 6:45 a.m. and called 911, according to authorities and sources.
The NYPD’s Harbor Unit, as well as FDNY EMS, responded and pulled out the body, police said.
The man appeared to be about 30 years old and had a prosthetic right leg, sources said.
The circumstances of his death were not immediately known.
The city medical examiner’s office will make an official ruling, police said.
