Alice Hirson, known for her roles on iconic shows like “Full House” and “Dallas,” has died at age 95.
Hirson died from natural causes last Friday at the Motion Picture and Television Country House and Hospital in Los Angeles, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The Long Island native’s career spanned several generations of television — performing in 26 episodes of “Dallas,” 28 installments of Ellen DeGeneres’ eponymous ABC sitcom “Ellen,” and was beloved amongst fans of “Full House,” appearing as Claire Tanner in two episodes as the matriarch of the on-screen Saget-clan.
The veteran actress also had spot appearances on “Murphy Brown,” “Just Shoot Me!,” “The Secret Life of the American Teenager,” and several daily soap operas.
Not confined to just the small screen, Hirson starred in several films, including “Private Benjamin,” “Revenge of the Nerds,” and “Being There.”
Hirson also appeared three times on Broadway, including as a member of the original cast of “The Investigation.”
Hirson married actor Stephen Elliot, who died in 2005. She then married Tony award winning dramatist Roger O. Hirson, with whom she had two children.
She is survived by sons David and Christopher and grandson Daniel.
