After rocking the Bowery Ballroom, Page Six hears that Beck had an intimate after party at scene-y spot the Mulberry.
The “Loser” singer performed a solo acoustic show at the Lower East Side institution on Monday, nearly a week after Paul McCartney sent New Yorkers into a frenzy with his surprise concert at the same small venue, where up-and-coming acts are often booked.
We hear the former Second Gentleman was among the fans who came out to catch Beck’s show, and a source told Page Six that the “Sexx Laws” star hung out with Doug Emhoff backstage. Emhoff, who we hear has been a longtime fan of Beck’s for 30 years, attended the concert with his brother-in-law, Tony West. The duo linked with Beck backstage, where they hung out and discussed his artistry, we hear. Beck invited them to the afterparty, but the former SG returned to private legal practice last month and had an early morning, according to a source.
Beck, on the other hand, brought the party back to Mulberry – his go to for unwinding after a concert. (He last jammed out with Jon Hamm at the celeb hangout after a concert). He didn’t get on the mic this time, but rather “held court in the main room,” a spy told Page Six.
“He could barely get past the entryway from all the people congratulating him,” the spy said.
We’re told Keegan-Michael Key air drummed in a corner with friends as everyone partied to rock. Mike Kerr from Royal Blood, Adam Greene from the Moldy Peaches and Harper Simon all made the rounds at the afterparty.
