The iconic house featured in Breaking Bad is now on the market.
Located in Albuquerque, New Mexico, the property served as Walter White’s residence in the acclaimed series starring Bryan Cranston, which aired from 2008 to 2013.
The asking price is $4 million (£3.2 million), a stark contrast to the estimated value of similar homes in the area, which average around $350,000 (£281,746).
Since the show’s debut, fans have flocked to the site to take photos. Speaking with local radio station KOB4, current owner Joanne Quintana shared that they see “300 cars a day,” according to Consequence.
While Quintana recalled fond moments from the show’s filming—such as the day Cranston famously tossed a pizza onto the roof in a single take—she expressed frustration over the persistent fan traffic and attempts to recreate the infamous scene.
In response, a fence was added to protect the property, but after 52 years, the family has decided to move on. “We’re going to walk away with just our memories. It’s time to move on. We’re done. There’s no reason to fight anymore,” Quintana explained. She added, “I hope they make it what the fans want. They want a BnB, they want a museum, they want access to it. Go for it.”
Bryan Cranston has also addressed the show’s enduring legacy. Last year, he encouraged fans to let go, saying, “Everything should come to an end. Everything’s cyclical. Our lives are cyclical. The seasons, trees, everything. And, so, it’s okay to have a beginning, middle, and end, and then let it go. I’m proud of what we did.”
Since Breaking Bad, Cranston reprised his role as Walter White in various projects, including a cameo in the final season of Better Call Saul, a brief appearance in the 2019 film El Camino, and a Super Bowl ad in 2023.
Meanwhile, creator Vince Gilligan hinted at the potential for a spin-off centered on Walter White’s son, Walt Jr. (played by RJ Mitte), during a 2023 interview with Variety.
In other news, Breaking Bad was named the best show of the last 25 years in a fan poll conducted by Rotten Tomatoes last year.
