The late President Jimmy Carter left a lasting legacy by supporting the Hyde Amendment when it could have been smothered in the crib. But he could have done more to help the unborn. One wonders how exactly his desire to be admired and his desire to be a Democrat interacted with the Christian ethics that he long espoused.
