President Biden is set to deliver remarks Thursday afternoon on securing a record 235 judicial confirmations over the last four years.
The achievement came after the Senate ran into significant delays and fighting that held up confirmation hearings for several nominees.
The previous record was held by President-elect Trump, who had 234 judges confirmed during his first term in office. Trump, after winning the 2024 election, pressed the Senate to hold off on confirming judges until he returned to the Oval Office following Inauguration Day.
Still, the upper chamber of Congress reached a deal ahead of the Thanksgiving recess to push through nominees.
Biden’s remarks are scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. EST.
