USA Network’s Scare Tactics knows how to make viewers scream with laughter! From Jordan Peele and Monkeypaw Productions, the reimagined comedy-horror series is a refreshing and terrifying new take on hidden camera content. Each episode turns unsuspecting targets into the stars of their own nightmares as they are set up by friends or family and a network of professional pranksters.
In this exclusive clip, we watch a target’s routine exam and X-ray turn into an extraterrestrial event. It begins with the unassuming Richard “Richie” Batantou, along with his sister Christy (who is the prankster), sitting inside a strange medical office talking with a doctor and his nurse. “What we’re gonna do is put you in a body scan,” says the doctor. Richie must not be a fan of Stranger Things because the doctor is none other than actor Randy Havens, who plays Scott Clarke, the science teacher at Hawkins Middle School.
Havens leads Richie over to the “body scan” machine, which is a clear plastic box with a seat inside. As the test commences, the lights of the body scanner flicker. Havens opens the box and shows Richie the monitor that the nurse is looking through. “Alright, Richie, you’ve got this anomaly showing up on the scan here,” says Randy, pointing at Richer’s “x-ray” that has an otherworldly-looking bony claw in his chest. “It’s in your left pectoral.Have you felt anything strange?” asks Randy. “It looks to us like some sort of genetic anomaly.”
“Can we do that again?” asks Richard, growing concerned. “That does not look healthy at all.” Randy, knowing the prank is working, soothes Richie. “Just have a seat. We’re going actually go back and bring our colleagues out,” says Randy as he leaves the room with his nurse trailing behind him. Richie walks back over to Christy, clearly worried. “There’s like a…” Richie begins. “I don’t even. . . looks like bones or like random bones in my chest.” Christy feigns shock as Richie continues. “Bro, it looked like a fucking spider in my fucking chest, like an arm.” As Riche grows more nervous, he feels around his chest. “I mean, I feel fine…I think.”
Before he can say another word, an alarm sounds and two men in hazmat suits burst into the room. “What’s going on, man?” asks Richie, getting agitated. “There is absolutely nothing to worry about,” begins one of the men. Richie buries his head in his hands, waiting to learn his fate, as Christy tries to hide the smile on her face.
