The Liberty added a new piece to their roster on Sunday night in a trade with the Sun.
Guard Natasha Cloud is New York-bound in exchange for the Liberty’s No. 7 overall pick in this year’s WNBA draft along with a future first-round pick in 2026.
Cloud is entering her 10th WNBA season and is coming off a 2024 where she played for the Phoenix Mercury and averaged 11.5 points per game. She was acquired by the Sun from the Mercury in February as part of the Alyssa Thomas blockbuster.

The Post’s Madeline Kenney reported in February that the Liberty reached out to the Sun about a trade, but Connecticut declined.
“We could not be more excited to welcome Natasha Cloud to the New York Liberty family,” Liberty general manager Jonathan Kolb said in a statement. “Tash is someone who we identified years ago as a prime fit for our team and embodies everything we look for in a player.”

He added: “She has always left a lasting impression on the Barclays Center crowd, and we look forward to seeing the best fans in the WNBA embrace her on a nightly basis. Tash will undoubtedly strengthen our roster on both sides of the ball as we pursue another title in 2025.”
