Canadian leader Mark Carney’s, deep ties to US Democrats exposed

New Canadian Prime Minister-designate Mark Carney is a creation of the establishment swamp with extensive ties to the Democratic Party in the US, which he’s going to great lengths to bury, The Post can reveal.

In particular, Carney is linked to John Podesta – appointed the controversial custodian of a $375 billion Democrat slush fund by ex-president Joe Biden – who has helped prop up the Canada’s ruling Liberal Party.

The link between Podesta and Carney — the new Liberal Party leader who has controversially been pictured alongside Jeffrey Epstein madame Ghislaine Maxwell — comes via Gerald Butts, a former political advisor to recently departed PM Justin Trudeau for more than a decade.

Butts contributed to Carney’s campaign and works closely with Carney’s wife, Diana Fox Carney, an economist at the Eurasia Group, a global consulting firm in Manhattan. Butts is a senior advisor and vice chair at the company, according to its website.

Eurasia Group has benefited from numerous consulting contracts worth hundreds of thousands of dollars with the Canadian government between 2017 and 2024 when Trudeau was prime minister, according to public records.

Butts and Trudeau’s inner circle quietly backed political newcomer Carney, according to the Toronto Sun, although they officially deny it.

“Podesta and Butts clearly know each other, but Carney’s campaign has been very careful not to tie him to anyone too specifically,” said Michael Taube, a columnist for Canada’s National Post newspaper and former speechwriter for former Prime Minister Stephen Harper.

Podesta set up the liberal nonprofit Center for American Progress (CAP) in 2002, which has worked closely with the group Canada 2020, a Canadian non-profit which his modelled after it and was set up in 2006.

In 2012, Butts and other close advisors to Trudeau, then a member of parliament considering a run for leadership in Canada, attended a CAP event focused on lessons from the Obama campaign.

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton was a featured speaker at a subsequent Canada 2020 conference in 2014. However, she became annoyed her participation was linked to a de facto fundraiser for the Liberal Party, according to Podesta’s emails from the time, released by WikiLeaks in 2016.

The Liberal Party had invited donors to enter a raffle featuring a trip to Ottawa, breakfast with Trudeau and attendance at Clinton’s speech.

At that time Podesta, a former advisor President Obama, was working as Clinton’s campaign chair and went on to chair her failed 2016 bid for the presidency.

A few years later, CAP’s Global Progress Initiative held other events attended by the “Trudeau Liberals and the guys from Canada 2020,” Matt Browne, a senior fellow for CAP who also sat on Canada 2020’s advisory board, told Canada’s Globe and Mail in 2016.

A year later, in 2017, a Canada 2020 conference doubled as a fundraiser for Trudeau’s Liberal Party and featured an appearance by Obama.

In 2021, Butts teamed up with Podesta for a virtual panel discussion on Canada-US cooperation on green initiatives. The event was co-sponsored by CAP and Canada 2020, according to a press release for the event.

“Topics for discussion include the future of electric vehicle production, shifts and trends in international trade, the North American renewable energy market, the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement, multilateral cooperation, and the role of environmental justice issues during the shift to a clean market economy,” the press release said.

A year later, President Biden named Podesta to helm the controversial climate fund worth more than $375 billion.

Carney is a former governor of both the Bank of Canada and the Bank of England. Despite no previous political experience he won a landslide victory Sunday to become the leader of the Liberal Party.

During his time in England, he was photographed alongside his wife and Maxwell, sentenced to 20 years in prison in 2022 for helping billionaire pedophile Epstein sexually abuse girls and women.

Maxwell had gone to school with Fox Carney’s sister, although she was not close to the family a spokesperson for Carney said when the photos began to circulate online in January, according to reports.

Carney will replace former Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, who resigned in January amid low approval ratings.
