The first episode of the beloved singing competition American Idol finally premiered last night on ABC. The newest season sees a new judge, as well, with former winner Carrie Underwood replacing longtime judge Katy Perry. She joins fellow judges Lionel Ritchie and Luke Bryan, and Ryan Seacrest is back for yet another season as host.
The premiere came with a big surprise, as Backstreet Boys singer Brian Littrell made an appearance — not to perform (damn it!), but to support his son Baylee Littrell, who performed an original song to high praises from the judges. (Watch that performance above!)
If you missed the whole broadcast last night, here’s how you can watch the season premiere of Idol, as well as upcoming episodes.
American Idol Season 23 Premiere Date
