Teddi Mellencamp Reveals That “Multiple” Brain Tumors Couldn’t Be Removed And Two More Were Found In Her Lung After Surgery

Despite a troubling health update, Teddi Mellencamp is “feeling positive.”

The former The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star — who underwent surgery for multiple brain tumors last month — shared an update from her scans on Thursday (March 6) on Instagram, revealing that “multiple tumors” in her brain were unable to be “removed via surgery.” In addition to these tumors, Mellencamp said that she also has two tumors in her lung, all of which are “metastases of [her] melanoma.”

Fortunately, Mellencamp highlighted that “the doctors are hopeful that immunotherapy will effectively treat them,” and remained optimistic.

“I am feeling positive— that I will win this battle, that I got this wig (I like the short hair, just not the bald spots), and that I can remember all of Angelina [Jolie]‘s kids’ names,” she continued.

Mellencamp concluded her post by quoting Bravo’s own Andy Cohen, writing, “Now, as @bravoandy would say: with all due… f*** off cancer!”

Several fellow Bravo stars past and present shared their support in the comments section of Mellencamp’s post, including Emily Simpson and Tamra Judge (The Real Housewives of Orange County), Cynthia Bailey (The Real Housewives of Atlanta), Scheana Shay (Vanderpump Rules), and Jackie Goldschneider (The Real Housewives of New Jersey).

Mellencamp edited the caption of her post about two hours after she originally posted it. According to People, she had initially written that she has “3 more tumors in [her] brain and 2 tumors on [her] lungs,” and that the immunotherapy “begins Tuesday at 11AM.”

Mellencamp, who was diagnosed with stage 2 melanoma in 2022, underwent surgery last month to have tumors removed after doctors found “multiple” in her brain. In a Feb. 12 Instagram post, she explained that she had “been dealing with severe and debilitating headaches” over “the last several weeks.”

She updated her followers on Feb. 26, sharing how “grateful” she is for “the incredible surgeons, doctor, and nurses who made [her] surgery a success and [her] recovery process comfortable,” and thanked people for “the outpouring of love and prayers.” Last week, she also shared a selfie captioned, “Staples out and ready for radiation.”

According to Page Six, Mellencamp had been released from the hospital on Tuesday (March 4) after spending 16 days there.
