Halyna Hutchins’ family slams Alec Baldwin’s ‘shameless’ TLC show, demands he testify

The heartbroken family of late cinematographer Halyna Hutchins has slammed Alec Baldwin following the release of his TLC show, saying it’s “shameless” for the actor to claim he has PTSD following the October 2021 shooting on the set of his movie “Rust.”

Gloria Allred, who represents Hutchins’ mother, Olga Solovey, father Anatolii Androsovych and sister Svetlana Zemko, filed a notice of deposition in New Mexico on Monday, according to People.

In the notice, Hutchins’ family demands that the “30 Rock” alum testifies on May 9 in the wrongful death civil suit they originally filed in February 2023.

“It is long overdue for Alec Baldwin to admit and face the real-life consequences that he caused Halyna’s parents and sister. It is time for him to face reality under oath,” they told the outlet.

Baldwin, 66, was holding a prop gun during a rehearsal for a scene in “Rust” when it discharged, killing Hutchins and injuring director Joel Souza.

The actor, who also served as a producer on “Rust,” has always maintained that he did not pull the trigger that fatally shot Hutchins and did not know that the gun was loaded with live bullets.

He was charged with involuntary manslaughter, but the case was dismissed in July 2024 because prosecutors withheld evidence that could have been beneficial in the star’s defense.

Prosecutors ultimately dropped their appeal of the ruling last December. Baldwin has since said that he still struggles with post-traumatic stress disorder from the tragedy.

The family has also hit out at Baldwin’s new TLC reality series, “The Baldwins,” in which he and his wife, Hilaria, opened up about the shooting, claiming he considered suicide following the ordeal.

“Why is he claiming that he has PTSD?” Hutchins’ family continued in their statement.

“Is his reality show just a veiled attempt to create sympathy for himself with a future jury pool in our civil case? Is this just a shameless attempt to portray him as the real victim in this case?”

In a follow-up statement, the family told the Daily Mail, “The Baldwin reality show at once celebrates Mr. Baldwin’s joy of being with his children while ignoring the fact that Alec Baldwin took a child away from her parents. That is the painful and actual reality with which Halyna’s parents and sister live each and every day.”

Elsewhere, Hutchins’ family claimed that Baldwin “never called or tried to contact” them following the fatal shooting.

“Although some of Halyna’s friends and co-workers contacted Halyna’s mother with their condolences after Halyna lost her life on the set of Rust, the man who killed her never did,” they told the outlet.

“And to this day he has never taken responsibility for Halyna’s death,” the family added.

The Post has reached out to Baldwin’s reps for comment.
