Angelina Jolie beamed as she accompanied her 20-year-old daughter, Zahara Jolie, to the Women in Training Inc.’s Annual Mother-Daughter Brunch over the weekend.
The actress, 49, traveled all the way to Montgomery, Ala., to watch the Spellman College sophomore deliver a keynote speech about period poverty. According to the National Institute of Health, period poverty refers to women and girls who have “insufficient access to menstrual products, education, and sanitation facilities.”
The “Maria” actress could be seen happily posing with Zahara and attendees after her daughter gave her keynote speech.
For the event, Angelina wore a floor-length silk skirt paired with a button-up shirt. She styled her blond tresses straight and kept her makeup simple.
Zahara, on the other hand, wore a knee-length dress with pointy white hees and minimal makeup.
Ahead of the event, WIT’s president and CEO Adeyela Bennett acknowledged the privilege of having the actress and her daughter join them.
“We are truly honored that Zahara Jolie-Pitt will speak at the Fourth Annual WIT Mother-Daughter Brunch about her passion to end period poverty, which is the mission of Women in Training,” Bennett told Alabama news station WAKA 8.
Bennett continued, “We are also excited that her mother, the internationally renowned movie star Angelina Jolie, will join us to support her daughter and to support our goal of ensuring that every girl and young woman has the products she needs to live her life to the fullest extent.”
Most recently, Zahara stepped out with her mom at the Golden Globes, where they matched in Alexander McQueen gowns. Before that, they attended the Palm Springs Film Festival in early January.
Amid Angelina’s divorce battle with Brad Pitt, Zahara proved she was on her mom’s side when she dropped her dad’s last name while declaring herself to the Spellman College’s Alpha Kappa Alpha Incorporated sorority in 2023.
The former couple first met in 2005 on the set of “Mr. and Mrs. Smith” while he was still married to Jennifer Aniston. The “Friends” actress went on to file for divorce that same year and the two debuted their relationship.
They went on to adopt four children — Maddox, 23, Pax, 21, Zahara and Shiloh, 18 — before welcoming twins Knox and Vivienne, 16.
The two then got married in 2014 before she filed for divorce just two years later.
Although it was unclear at the time why, it was revealed in 2022 that Angelina left Pitt after he allegedly “choked one of the children and struck another in the face” during a flight.
He also allegedly “grabbed Jolie by the head and shook her” before “pour[ing] beer and red wine” on their family.
Both the FBI and DCFS cleared the “Se7en” star, who has consistently denied any physical altercation, of wrongdoing.
The two finally settled their divorce in December 2024.
