Attorney General Pam Bondi demanded the full release of files related to convicted sex offender Jeffery Epstein in a Thursday letter to FBI Director Kash Patel.
“By 8:00 a.m. tomorrow, February 28, the FBI will deliver the full and complete Epstein files to my office, including all records, documents, audio and video recordings, and materials related to Jeffrey Epstein and his dierits, regardless of how such information was obtained,” Bondi wrote.
“There will be no withholdings or limitations to my or your access. The Department of Justice will ensure that any public disclosure of these files will be done in a manner to protect the privacy of victims and in accordance with law, as I have done my entire career as a prosecutor.”
Bondi said her early requests resulted in the surfacing of 200 pages that included flight logs, Epstein’s list of contacts and a list of victims’ names and phone numbers.
However, she questioned if the report provided a full scope of the information requested. In her letter, she requested an investigation into why her original order seeking data on Epstein’s relations was not fulfilled.
“You will deliver to me a comprehensive report of your findings and proposed personnel action within 14 days,” Bondi said of her directive to launch an investigation.
Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.) and Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-Fla.) have pressured Bondi and Patel for unfettered details on Epstein’s global sex trafficking network following the Justice Department’s release of flight logs on Thursday.
“I nor the task force were given or reviewed the Epstein documents being released today… A NY Post story just revealed that the documents will simply be Epstein’s phonebook,” Luna wrote in a Thursday post on X.
“THIS IS NOT WHAT WE OR THE AMERICAN PEOPLE ASKED FOR and a complete disappointment. GET US THE INFORMATION WE ASKED FOR!”
