Michelle Trachtenberg’s mom last saw her daughter alive just 10 hours before she found the “Gossip Girl” star dead in her New York City apartment, according to a report.
Lana Trachtenberg saw the 39-year-old actress at 10 p.m. Tuesday, according to TMZ — before finding her unconscious and unresponsive around 8 a.m. Wednesday at her luxury apartment in Manhattan’s Central Park South neighborhood, as first reported by The Post.
Despite health concerns after a liver transplant within the last year, the actress had maintained an active life, and went out with her friends to Sartiano’s Italian restaurant in Soho last Thursday, TMZ reported.
Michelle’s body may have rejected the vital organ after the transplant, according to sources, who said she died of natural causes. Her death is not deemed suspicious and the city medical examiner will determine the exact cause, officials said.
A close friend of Michelle’s, photographer and media personality Amanda de Cadenet, claimed in an instagram post Wednesday evening that the “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” star was “recently” hospitalized — and had a “high” chance of dying.
“…Seeing your face from the hospital bed when we FaceTimed recently, even though you did not look like you, your sweetness and humor were still alive,” she wrote.
“I will not share the details of our conversations over the last 6 months,” de Cadenet wrote before adding, “but you knew that death was a high possibility and I am only sorry that the outcome was not a better one.”
In the months before her death the actress sparked health concerns when some of her 800,000 Instagram followers noticed her troublingly gaunt and frail appearance.
Last January, Trachtenberg responded by saying she was “happy and healthy” and insisted she never had plastic surgery.
