INDIANAPOLIS — No throwing for the top-rated quarterbacks at the NFL scouting combine this week?
No problem.
Anyone sniffing around to detect a whiff of controversy about this needs to find something else to get hot and bothered about.
The two top QB prospects in this year’s NFL Draft, Cam Ward and Shedeur Sanders, likely will not toss the football this week inside Lucas Oil Stadium. Sanders already has stated he will not participate in any passing drills, and Ward is undecided. If both opt out, all the general managers and scouts and coaches assembled here will leave town without gaining any knowledge or insight about the accuracy of Sanders’ right arm or the strength with which Ward throws the football.
