Patrick Mahomes celebrates with fan who sank 94-foot putt during Texas Tech-Houston

Patrick Mahomes is getting over Super Bowl disappointment by watching others enjoy their sports pinnacle.

During the first half of the Houston’s 69-61 win over Mahomes’ alma mater Texas Tech, one Red Raiders fan lined up an incredible 94-foot putt and nailed it after finding a slow and steady path to the hole.

Fans watched quietly while the ball trekked down the court and once it went through the hole, the crowd erupted and Mahomes ran onto the court in bedlam.

Mahomes approached the fan and the two jumped into the air for a massive shoulder bump as the celebration continued and the fans clamored.

It was unclear what the fan for achieving the impressive feat.

The full-court putt is a long shot staple of college basketball intermission contests, along with half-court shots.

The crowd ate it up as the eruption from the fans was perhaps the loudest of the game since the Red Raiders could not complete the season sweep of their in-state rivals.

Mahomes and his wife Brittany sat courtside in their home state a little more than two weeks after losing the Super Bowl 2025 to the Eagles, 40-22.

The couple has been busy as they allegedly intervened to stop a fight between their father, Patrick Mahomes Sr. and ex-Braves pitcher John Rocker, according to Barstool founder Dave Portnoy who was planning to put on the event.

With the fight off, they can finally relax after a grueling season.

Mahomes, who has a new haircut after losing in the Super bowl for the second time, spent three years with the Red Raiders under head coach Kliff Kingsbury from 2014-16.
