Illicit spa owner named Soon Bang snagged in NJ prostitution bust: police

It was an unhappy ending for a pair of New Jersey spa workers — including owner Soon Bang.

Bang and a coworker were arrested last week at a Denville massage parlor that cops said was operating as a brothel, providing sexual services for cash.

Police raided Oasis Spa on Feb. 20 and took Bang, 63, of Fairview into custody as well as employee Yushun Li, 67, of Flushing, Queens.

Bang, who goes by “Cindy” but whose gender was not clearly identified by the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office, was found in possession of a large amount of US currency, which cops said is “indicative of prostitution.”

Bang was charged with promoting prostitution, money laundering and engaging in prostitution, while Li was hit with engaging in prostitution raps.

The bust was the result of a multi-agency investigatory effort, with participation by the Denville Township Police Department, the US Department of Homeland Security Investigations Human Trafficking Task Force, United States Secret Service, Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office, Edison Police Department, Morris County Sheriff’s Office, and Morris County Prosecutor’s Office.

The prosecutor’s office said the investigation remains ongoing.
