Meghan Markle re-creates Princess Diana’s Northwestern sweatshirt look in new video

Meghan Markle re-created her late mother-in-law Princess Diana’s iconic Northwestern sweatshirt look.

On Sunday, the Duchess of Sussex took to her Instagram Stories to share videos from her time outside in her garden.

“A small break from work to soak in the weekend ☀️,” she captioned one of the videos as she frolicked around the garden, showed off her blossoming plants and watered the garden.

In one clip, Markle, who attended the Evanston, Ill., university from 1999 to 2003, turned the camera on herself, revealing that she was wearing a purple sweatshirt ($75) with the word “Northwestern” written in white across the chest.

Diana, who died in a car crash in Paris in August 1997, wore the same shirt in 1996.

The mom of Markle’s husband, Prince Harry, and Prince William reportedly received the shirt as a gift in 1995 after she visited the campus to raise money for the school’s cancer center.

The following year, Diana was famously wearing the purple sweatshirt with white biker shorts, a Gucci purse and sneakers outside the Chelsea Harbour Club in London.

Markle, 43, has paid homage to her late in-law through her fashion several times.

In November 2021, the As Ever founder wore Diana’s Cartier diamond tennis bracelet while attending the Salute to Freedom Gala with the Duke of Sussex, 40.

And last August, the “Suits” alum wore the same butterfly earrings that Diana wore in 1986.

Markle wore the gold stud earrings during the second day of her four-day-long visit to Colombia with Harry.

Markle’s new videos come after announced on Instagram that her company, American Riviera Orchard, would be renamed to “As Ever” after the mom of two’s original brand name faced several trademark snags.

After the former “Deal or No Deal” model’s rebrand a politician in Spain revealed she was considering suing Markle for seemingly plagiarizing one of the country’s coats of arms for As Ever’s logo.

Additionally, the founder of a New York clothing brand, whose name is also As Ever, said he would not be changing the name of his company and is “exploring all possibilities.”
