Kanye West criticized the Recording Academy for not giving him and his wife, Bianca Censori, tickets to the 2025 Grammys — despite the rapper receiving a nomination.
“How could the Grammies [sic] nominate me Then not give me tickets And then people mad when I go off,” West wrote via X on Saturday about the Feb. 2 awards show.
“I had to fight for 5 hours and call everyone I knew to get tickets to the Grammies [sic] They eventually gave me tickets but only for the red carpet. At that point I hadn’t started the rampage.”
Ye and Ty Dolla $ign’s hit “Carnival” was nominated for best rap song, but they lost to Kendrick Lamar for “Not Like Us.”
A Grammys executive producer previously confirmed West, 47, and Censori, 30, were not given seats inside Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles for this year’s show.
“They didn’t have a nomination on the [telecast] and Kanye wasn’t presenting,” Raj Kapoor told People earlier this month. “He was not performing either, which is mostly what those seats are.”
Although the “Gold Digger” rapper didn’t make it inside, he and the Australian model, whom he married in December 2022, made headlines when they made their red carpet debut at the Grammys.
As Censori posed alongside her husband, she removed her fur coat to reveal that she was wearing a completely sheer dress with nothing underneath.
She paired her look with clear flip-flop heels and wore her hair in a low slicked-back bun.
Rumors later swirled that the couple had been kicked out of music’s biggest night due to Censori’s scandalous outfit — or lack thereof — though one source told Page Six they left on their own accord before the ceremony began.
Following the stunt, West went on an antisemitic rant and defended Sean “Diddy” Combs, who has been charged with sex trafficking, on X before briefly deleting his account.
Page Six reported last Thursday that the Yeezy founder and Censori had split over his social media tirade, but his rep denied they were headed for divorce.
“Announcements about their private life will come from them directly, not unsourced rumor in the tabloid press,” the spokesman, Milo Yiannopoulos, said.
