Meryl Streep gives middle finger to Will Ferrell with Martin Short at ‘SNL’ concert

Don’t come for Meryl Streep.

The Oscar winner, 75, hilariously gave the middle finger to the camera while sitting next to rumored boyfriend Martin Short on “SNL50: The Homecoming Concert.”

During the televised event held Friday at Radio City Music Hall in NYC, “Saturday Night Live” alums Will Ferrell and Ana Gasteyer got on stage and reprised their roles as fictional Altadena Middle School music teachers Marty and Bobbi Mohan-Cu.

“We have pretty significant floaters right now, but it doesn’t stop us from seeing so many middle fingers peppered in both the upper mezzanine and orchestra section,” said Ferrell, 57. “It’s just unbelievably rude.”

“We’re talking about you, Meryl Streep. We see you,” added Gasteyer, 57.

The camera then cut to Streep, 75, flipping the bird from her seat in the crowd.

Short, 74, and the rest of the audience burst out laughing over Streep’s response.

The moment went viral on social media and was celebrated by fans.

“MERYL STREEP THE LEGEND YOU ARE,” one fan wrote on X (formerly Twitter).

“Highlight of an amazing show!!” someone else tweeted.

“She rocks,” another fan said about Streep.

A different person wrote, “their bit was actually so funny i didn’t expect anything they did haha.”

The fact that Short was sitting next to Streep for the entire concert was also a hot topic with fans online.

“I’m obsessed with Martin Short dragging Meryl to be in the audience of a SNL Music concert!” a fan said on X.

Someone else tweeted, “meryl streep and martin short have gotta be the cutest couple of all time whenever i see a picture of them i can’t help but smile like an idiot.”

Short and Streep, who play a couple on Hulu’s “Only Murders in the Building,” first sparked dating rumors in real life after getting cozy at the 2024 Golden Globes.

At the time, Short’s rep shut down the rumors. He told E News, “They are just very good friends. Nothing more.”

Short himself insisted that he and the “Mamma Mia!” actress were merely “friends” during an August interview with The Hollywood Reporter.

However, the rumors were reignited when the duo held hands at the “Only Murders” Season 4 premiere in Los Angeles in Aug. 2024.

They’ve since been photographed on multiple dinner dates together.

Short is a widower, having been married to Canadian actress Nancy Dolman – with whom he had three kids, Katherine, 41, Oliver, 38, and Henry, 35 – from 1980 until her death from cancer in 2010.

Streep, meanwhile, was married to Don Gummer, with whom she has four children. They quietly separated over six years ago.
