A North Carolina woman was arrested Thursday over allegations of 80 individual sex crimes involving multiple underaged victims.
Sara Jean Sellers, of Shallotte, was charged with 20 counts each of statutory rape of a child under the age of 15, statutory sex offense with a child under 15, and indecent liberties with a child, according to the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office.
The 44-year-old married mother-of-two was also charged with 10 counts of statutory sex offense with a child by an adult plus 10 counts of statutory rape of a child by adult.
Her bond was set at $2 million.
Investigators have not specified the number of Sellers’ alleged victims.
But during a court hearing Friday, prosecutors said two of the alleged victims were 12-year-old boys, reported WWAY.
Detectives are still interviewing two other boys who may have been victimized by Sellers.
The alleged sexual assaults happened between 2018 and 2019.
Sellers has been married for 22 years and has two daughters, defense attorneys said Friday, according to WWAY.
The Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office is asking anyone with information or anyone who may have been a victim to come forward.
