It’s not easy having an ultra-snatched waist, but beauty is pain, right?
On the latest episode of Hulu’s “The Kardashians,” Kim Kardashian admitted just how uncomfortable she felt in her 2024 Met Gala corset, which cinched her waist to new extremes.
To match the night’s “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion” theme, the 44-year-old reality star paired the silver brocade corset — created by John Galliano for Maison Margiela — with a skirt crafted from tooled silver metal in a pattern featuring flowers, leaves, pearls, mirror fragments and crystals.
But fans couldn’t help but wonder — and criticize — how she whittled her midsection without crushing any organs. In Feb. 13’s episode, the Skims founder revealed she nearly did just that.
While preparing for the star-studded evening at the start of the episode, Kardashian seemed quite optimistic about her controversial corset.
“I’m not as uncomfortable as I might look,” she boasted. “It’s definitely a performance piece. I mean, God bless the ‘Bridgerton’ cast that has to dress like this every single day. That would be so difficult.”
However, Kardashian’s comfort quickly dwindled. After the event, she began to panic while standing up inside a limo with friend La La Anthony. When Anthony wasn’t able to get the dress off of Kardashian’s body, the star said she felt like she was “literally going to throw up.”
“I am claustrophobic,” she told the cameras in a confessional. “I’ve never felt this way before, where I feel like I can’t breathe.”
She continued, “It’s like I can handle it for so long, but I have to pee, I can’t breathe, I can’t get this off. I was like, I’m going to die if you don’t get this off of me right now.”
“I’ve never been more uncomfortable,” Kim admitted back in the limo, adding that she really felt like she “can’t breathe.”
Eventually, the duo made it back to their hotel with Kardashian’s corset completely undone, only to find that her back was bruised and riddled with indentations from the ultra-tight outfit.
Despite the panic and pain, she told the cameras it was “Abso-f—king-lutely” worth it to wear the look to the Met.
“That’s just who I am,” Kardashian proudly added in her confessional. “If you look good, it’s all worth it.”
