Tamra Judge became emotional while announcing Teddi Mellencamp will take some time away from their podcast as she recovers from brain surgery.
Judge, who co-hosts “Two Ts in a Pod” with Mellencamp, shared in Wednesday’s episode that the “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” alum would be going on a “brief sabbatical to deal with some health stuff.”
“I’ll allow Teddi to tell her story when she’s back,” the “Real Housewives of Orange County” star said as her voice cracked and she started to cry. “But you all know how much she loves this podcast and wants nothing more than for us to continue on recording while she focuses on her health.”
Judge, 57, concluded her message by thanking fans for their “continued love and support.”
Mellencamp, 43, made a brief statement at the beginning of the episode to explain that doctors had found “multiple tumors” after she went to the hospital for “severe and debilitating headaches.”
“They found I have two brain tumors, which need to be removed, which are getting done today,” she said. “And then I have three more smaller tumors that will most likely need to be removed with radiation.”
The former Bravolebrity decided to share her health ordeal publicly because she did “not want speculation on anything additional going on.”
“I feel really grateful that I’ve been able to have a conversation with my kids about this, that I’m sitting in the hospital with Edwin [Arroyave] and my friends, and I’m feeling ready and positive for surgery. Stay tuned,” she concluded her message, referencing her estranged husband.
The podcast co-hosts spoke about the situation after Mellencamp first revealed the news in an Instagram post Wednesday.
“After a CT scan and MRI, doctors found multiple tumors on my brain, which they believe have been growing for at least 6 months,” Mellencamp wrote in part.
She subsequently underwent emergency brain surgery to have the two smaller tumors removed.
The All In founder added that she is “blessed” to have support from her “children, family, friends, doctors, nurses and surgeons who are doing everything possible to get me back into better health.”
Prior to undergoing surgery, Mellencamp shared photos and videos with Arroyave and her best friends, Kyle Richards and Morgan Wade, all of whom visited her in the hospital.
Arroyave, 47, also posted a photo with Mellencamp in her hospital bed and wrote, “Lord, I lift up @teddimellencamp to You. You are the Great Healer, and I ask for Your healing touch upon her body. Restore her strength, renew her spirit, and let her feel Your comforting presence. Grant her peace, hope, and full recovery. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
Two of the former couple’s children — son Cruz, 10, and daughter Dove, 4 — joined their parents in the hospital room. They also share daughter Slate,12, but she was not featured in any of the posts.
