NewsNation anchor Chris Cuomo chided Anderson Cooper Wednesday night when he claimed his former CNN colleague looked like a “fool” after the journalist told ex-New Hampshire governor Chris Sununu to not be a “d–k.”
Cuomo, who was fired from CNN in 2021, weighed in on the exchange between Cooper and Sununu that grew heated while the pair were debating the transparency, or lack thereof, from Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency.
The AC360 host eventually blew a fuse during the back-and-forth when he told the ex-pol, “Don’t be a d–k.”

He later apologized to Sununu, who brushed off the insult, noting he had seven brothers and sisters growing up.
But the apology didn’t stop Cuomo from dinging Cooper.
“Didn’t bother the Gov, sure, he had brothers, but it also made Coop look like a fool, right?” Cuomo said on his show.
“Look, I believe Anderson Cooper is the best in the business. And when he surrenders to this ugliness, you know things are out of hand. He knows why said it,” Cuomo said.
“He said it because that’s what the left is demanding these days, a muscularity. You got to be mean back to them.”
Cuomo’s monologue focused on how media members shouldn’t confuse “being inhumane for being tough.”
“This animus it’s become contagious,” he said. “It’s like this proxy for rigor and toughness. Being mean is not the same as being tough.”
Cuomo was fired from his old news network in 2021 after it was revealed he helped his brother, former New York governor Andrew Cuomo, attempt to navigate his own sexual harassment scandal that led to his resignation.
