The View kicked off their Monday show today, but fans who may have been hoping to see Joy Behar back on their screens this morning are going to be disappointed. The longtime co-host was once again nowhere to be seen at the Hot Topics table.
Instead, Whoopi Goldberg was joined by co-hosts Alyssa Farah Griffin, Sara Haines, Sunny Hostin and Ana Navarro. Today marks a full week of absence for Behar, but longtime fans know not to be alarmed: The co-host never attends Monday tapings. Both she and Goldberg work four days a week on The View, with Goldberg taking off Fridays while Behar takes off Mondays (last week was an exception; with Behar out on Feb. 6, Goldberg filled in that day).
While we missed Behar at the Hot Topics table last week, we got a blast from the past when an original View co-host joined the show to fill her place. Goldberg began last Wednesday’s episode (Feb. 5) by telling viewers, “Do not try and adjust your television set! Joy is not here today,” before noting that “One of the OGs, the fabulous Star Jones,” was at the table that morning.
Goldberg told her, “Welcome back,” as Jones replied, “It’s nice to be back! This is the new stuff up in here,” referring to The View‘s new Season 27 studio.
“Studio looks a little different, table looks a little different, but the camaraderie is the same,” Jones said to much applause.
While Jones isn’t back today, we do have a full, five-person panel thanks to Navarro. Wondering where Behar is today? We’ve got you covered. Keep reading for more info about her absence and when we expect to see her back.
Is Joy Behar still on The View?
Yes, Behar is still a member of The View Season 27. Unfortunately, the fan-favorite co-host has been missing from the show for a week now, but her absence is temporary.
When will Joy Behar be back on The View?
Behar will hopefully be back on the show tomorrow. While we’ve missed her for days now, it’s normal for Behar to be absent on a Monday show. She typically takes off Monday episodes while Goldberg takes off Fridays. So, we’ve got our finger crossed that after missing a few episodes following the opening of her Broadway show My First Ex-Husband last week, Behar will be in her seat again at the table on Tuesday’s (Feb. 11) show.
