Karoline Leavitt is a bit cross with the California Democrat who accused her of faux faith.
The White House press secretary fired back at freshman Rep. Dave Min, who attacked Leavitt on X last week, labeling her “a Fake Christian.”
“I think it’s pitiful for an elected member of Congress to say that about a woman who he’s never even met,” she told The Post Saturday.
Min’s remarks came in response to the White House rescinding an Office of Management and Budget memo that ordered a freeze of all federal grants and loans that contradict Trump’s executive orders.
A federal judge blocked the OMB guidance on Jan. 28, but Leavitt clarified that while the memo had been revoked, the policy barring federal funding to DEI and other progressive pet projects was still very much in place.
“This is NOT a rescission of the federal funding freeze,” she tweeted. “It is simply a rescission of the OMB memo. Why? To end any confusion created by the court’s injunction. The President’s EO’s on federal funding remain in full force and effect, and will be rigorously implemented.”
Min further mocked Leavitt for clarifying the policy, tweeting that she did so “while wearing a giant cross to let everyone know how pious and moral she is, even as she is so comfortable stating a bald-faced lie to hundreds of millions of people.”
The press secretary, who donned a conspicuous gold cross in her first White House press briefing on Jan. 28, set the record straight about her faith.
“My Christian faith is a huge part of my life,” she told The Post. “My faith, my marriage, my family life — it’s everything to me.”
The 27-year-old is a wife and mother to 6-month-old Nicholas “Niko” Robert.
Her public appearances wearing the gold cross have generated a ton of buzz on X, with users celebrating and excoriating her display of faith.
“Incredible seeing Karoline Leavitt, the youngest person to serve as White House Press Secretary, unapologetically wear a Christian cross during her first press briefing,” one user wrote.
“Karoline Leavitt wears a cross around her neck in her first press briefing. Love it,” tweeted another.
“These FAKE Christians drive me up a wall! Supporting the symbol of a cross with the meaning of goodness / kindness to others and love of Christ, BUT evil MAGA Christians just spread HATE for mankind!” wrote one angry user.
“I need @nbcsnl to do a skit where it’s Karoline Leavitt doing press conferences and the stories get crazier and crazier and her cross necklace gets larger and larger,” another user tweeted.
Leavitt, who was raised Catholic and attended Central Catholic High School in Lawrence, Mass., has credited her faith as the foundation of her conservative values and belief in the American Dream.
