Drew Barrymore Reveals Who She Shared Her Best Onscreen Kiss With

Drew Barrymore is spilling on who she had her “best onscreen kiss” with — and it’s a rom-com pairing that we all can get behind.

During her Wednesday night (Feb. 5) visit to Watch What Happens Live, host Andy Cohen asked Barrymore for who her favorite on-screen smooch was with. After a moment of pondering, Barrymore named Adam Sandler, noting how she loves that they are “so platonic.”

“We never dated, his wife Jackie is my dear friend,” she explained. “But I love being in films with him because I think we’re representing something bigger than, like, hot sexual chemistry. We’re representing true admiration of another person.”

The Drew Barrymore Show host has previously shared this sentiment on her talk show in January, telling guest Graham Norton about the lesson she took away from working with Sandler.

“Sandler, I feel like, is emblematic of there can be romance in everything you do and it doesn’t have to be of the sexual kind,” she shared. “A lot of my favorite movies are love stories that have nothing to do with sex. It can be between two men, two women, a father-daughter. Those types of movies. I feel like that’s kind of how Sandler and I are.”

Barrymore and Sandler starred alongside each other in 1998’s The Wedding Singer, 2004’s 50 First Dates, and 2014’s Blended. With respect to their latest film collaboration, Barrymore, who became a mother in 2012, noted how Sandler had made her feel “safe” returning to acting.

“I went and worked with Adam Sandler and that felt safe because I knew he had two daughters,” she said on a November 2024 episode of The Drew Barrymore Show. “And he was someone I trusted with everything that I know and I just thought, ‘I’ll be adjacent to people who I know work and have kids and that will make me feel safer.’”

Cohen, for one, highlighted Barrymore’s “iconic” kiss in Never Been Kissed, which she shared with Michael Vartan.

Watch What Happens Live airs Sunday through Thursdays at 10 p.m. ET on Bravo. New episodes are available to stream the next day on Peacock.
