Hell’s Kitchen takes on a whole new audience.
Celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay stars in cookware brand HexClad’s first Superbowl commercial — dubbed “Unidentified Frying Object” — as he teaches aliens how to cook.
The ad opens with Ramsay and a government official at Area 51.
“We’ve made contact with a new alien species. And apparently, they’re foodies,” she says.
“Oh, foodies. The worst,” Ramsay replies.
The government official tells Ramsay that he would have to cook for them and will have access to everything in the Area 51 Test Kitchen.
When he notices the cookware, Ramsay immediately knows what brand they’re from.
“That’s just a HexClad pan,” he says while pulling it off from the wall. “I’ve got these at home.”
The pan, which was leaked eight years ago according to the official, was developed from an alien spacecraft that was created “to deal with a thick egg-like atmosphere.”
“You’re saying the pan I used to fry my bacon is made out of flying saucers?” Ramsay asked.
At that moment, the official informed Ramsey that the alien ambassador had arrived.
“What’s up dude?” Pete Davidson asks, revealing himself as the ambassador.
When asked by Ramsay if he was an alien, Davidson replies: “All famous people are aliens.”
“I’m not,” shoots back Ramsay.
“I meant like really famous people,” Davidson quips, making the small aliens in the kitchen burst into laughter.
The commercial ends with the alien next to Davidson asking, “Who is this guy?” referring to Ramsay.
Ramsay previously starred in the 2018 Super Bowl Amazon Alexa commercial, berating an Alexa user for asking for a grilled cheese sandwich recipe.
Davidson, for his part, has appeared in ads for Hellmann’s and Totino’s Pizza Rolls.
Last year, Davidson revealed his Super Bowl game days are “pretty chill.”
“I usually invite my friends and mom over to watch the games with me,” he told People at the time. “I’ll invite my friends over to watch the game, and have been doing that the past few years,” he added of his 2024 plans.
Other stars who’re appearing in Super Bowl commercials this year include Ben Affleck, Matt Damon, David Beckham, Seal, Adam Brody and Meg Ryan and Billy Crystal — who staged a “When Harry Met Sally” reunion.
The commercials will air during the Super Bowl 59 game between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Kansas City Chiefs at New Orleans Caesars Superdome on Sunday, Feb. 9.
