The Heat-Jimmy Butler saga seems to have reached its final chapter.
Miami is closing in on a trade to send Butler to the Warriors in exchange for Andrew Wiggins, Dennis Schroder, Kyle Anderson and a protected first-round draft pick, ESPN’s Shams Charania first reported.
Charania added that Lindy Waters III of the Warriors and the Heat’s Josh Richardson are both heading to the Pistons in the swap.
Butler has agreed to a new two-year, $121 million extension with Golden State through 2026-27, per ESPN.
Butler, who has been suspended multiple times by the Heat this season, made clear in early January that he likely would not find “joy” playing in Miami.
Now, the 35-year-old will get that chance to find it elsewhere next to Steph Curry.
