The View was thrilled by big wins for Beyoncé and Shakira and a $7 million fundraiser for wildfire relief at last night’s (Feb. 2) Grammy Awards, but not everyone had an entirely glowing review of music’s biggest night.
Panelist Alyssa Farah Griffin shared her “high” of the evening before revealing one element of last night’s show that left her feeling uneasy. After celebrating the full-circle moment when Taylor Swift awarded Beyoncé with the best country music album Grammy, Griffin said, “Low, and I don’t even want to dignify this, other than to say: Kanye West, I don’t want to see him on red carpets anymore.”
She added, “I hope his partner is OK, because that whole thing was very uncomfortable I think for most women to watch, and I just, I don’t want to see it or hear from it any further.”
Griffin was referring to the shocking look that Bianca Censori, West’s wife, debuted on the Grammys red carpet.
While Censori initially walked out in a voluminous black fur coat, she dropped the layer to reveal a completely sheer slip dress underneath that made her appear totally naked.
Although rumors swirled online that West and Censori had been kicked out of the ceremony after her red carpet reveal, People reports that the pair chose to leave after walking the red carpet.
West attended the Grammys carpet because his Vultures 1 track “Carnival” was nominated for best rap song. Kendrick Lamar won the award for “Not Like Us.”
Griffin wasn’t the only one concerned by Censori’s Grammys appearance. Plenty of X users were alarmed too, with one user writing, “Can someone explain why this is cool? Because to me, it’s giving exploitation, trafficking. It’s so weird and he objectifies her in front of the world. Someone help her, jeez.”
