Authorities called this unhappy ex a brick-faced liar.
A Florida woman was caught on camera chucking a commemorative “first date” brick through her ex-husband’s window late last month – even as she repeatedly denied carrying out the vengeful act, according to police.
Sabrina Coyne, 34, was arrested around 11 p.m. on Jan. 24 when Lee County Sheriff deputies confronted her in front of her ex’s Bonita Springs home, according to footage released by authorities.
When law enforcement first reached the scene, one deputy asked Coyne, who was wearing a short dress and high heels, why she was banging on the front door.
“I banged on the door because he wouldn’t let me in,” she said, according to bodycam footage.
She claimed she lived at the home, but authorities said that wasn’t true. She also denied throwing anything through his window, but surveillance video suggested otherwise.
Footage provided by the sheriff’s office showed her launching the object with her left hand like a poor-performing shot putter as she appeared to record the toss on her phone with her right hand.
A crash can be heard on the video as the brick went through a window on the side of the home.
The homeowner called police after hearing the loud crash and then the banging on the door, the sheriff’s office said.
Bodycam footage showed Coyne continue to plead her case as she was led away in handcuffs.
“I did not break the window,” she said. “I did not break the window … officer, I did not break the window.”
The brick appeared to memorialize the former couple’s first date in June 2020 when they went jet skiing together, according to a photo of the brick provided by the sheriff’s office on its social media page.
Coyne is facing charges of criminal mischief and throwing a deadly missile into an occupied dwelling, the sheriff’s office said.
