There’s nothing casual about Chappell Roan’s red carpet look.
The singer, who burst onto the scene last year with her album “The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess,” arrived on the Grammys 2025 red carpet on Sunday wearing a vintage Jean Paul Gauliter ballgown straight from the designer’s 2003 couture runway.
The elaborate tiered style is literally a piece of art as it includes prints of ballerinas inspired by Edward Degas’ famous paintings.
Roan’s not the first star to don the dress, as Beyoncé modeled the same design in an Elle magazine spread during her Destiny’s Child days.
For her part, Roan topped off the look with a feathered headpiece, turquoise opera gloves. and her signature bold clown-inspired glam.
Hairstylist Dom Forletta used the TikTok-viral Wavytalk hair tools to perfect her wavy red hair for the big day.
Roan is nominated for six awards tonight — tied with fellow pop princesses Taylor Swift and Sabrina Carpenter — including all four of the biggest categories: record of the year, album of the year, song of the year and best new artist. Plus, she’s up for best pop solo performance and best pop vocal album.
The “Good Luck, Babe!” singer, 26, is also set to perform during the telecast, which is sure to be a spectacle as she’s known for her over-the-top costumes and theatrical appearances inspired by drag queens.
On Thursday, Roan, whose real name is Kayleigh Rose Amstutz, expressed how she’s feeling ahead of the big evening on Instagram.
Sharing selfies from inside her car, the Missouri native started her lengthy caption writing, “Hey girls I just woke up. Good morning booboos.”
Roan continued, “It’s Grammy week. I am very emo. My heart feels warm and fuzzy with all the support I have been given this past year. I hope you can understand that this has been incredible and scary and spiritual and confusing.”
The musician noted that she’s been “crying tears of joy and grief and feeling loved and lonely and free.”
