Rory McIlroy made the shot of his life on Thursday.
Playing in the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am at Spyglass Hill Golf Course, the Northern Irish golfer sank a hole-in-one through the air on the par-3 15th hole from 119 yards out.
It’s just the second ace he’s had on the PGA Tour in his long career after hitting a hole-in-one during the 2023 Travelers Championship.
The amazing pitch moved him to 3-under through six holes after starting his opening round of the tournament on the 10th hole at Spyglass.
McIlroy sat at 5-under through 17 holes on Thursday, just outside of the top-20 on the leaderboard.
He’s the first player since Justin Rose in 2023 to hit an ace at the 15th hole at the course.
Thursday marked McIlroy’s return to the PGA Tour for the first time in 2025, having not played professionally since the Tour Championship in September.
McIlroy, 35, is looking to win his first major in over a decade this year.
Last season, McIlroy won two PGA tournaments, taking first in the Zurich Classic of New Orleans and Wells Fargo Championship.
In June, McIlroy took a heart-breaking second-place in the U.S. Open after missing a pair of crucial late-fourth-round putts, opening the door for Bryson DeChambeau to win the tournament.
