‘WWHL’: Chloe Fineman Says She “Had A Vibe” With Elon Musk After He Made Her Cry

While Elon Musk made Chloe Fineman “burst into tears” when he hosted Saturday Night Live, the actress said they “really got along” after the fact.

On Wednesday night’s (Jan. 29) episode of Watch What Happens Live, Fineman reflected on the time Musk made her cry because he didn’t like the sketch she wrote.

“We really got along. I thought we kind of had a vibe — after he made me cry,” she said. “We went on quite a journey. He made me cry, I was like, ‘Fuck you.’ And then the sketch got picked, we did the sketch, and we got along.”

Fineman added, “We have nothing in common because he goes to Mars or whatever. But in my head, I was like, ‘I get this guy.’”

During an August 2024 episode of WWHL, Fineman’s SNL co-star Bowen Yang revealed that one “terrible” host made “multiple cast members cry” because he didn’t like the material, but didn’t name who the host was. Months later, Fineman posted a TikTok video in which she identified the unnamed celebrity host as Musk, noting that she “burst into tears” after he criticized “The Ooli Show,” a sketch she spent “all night” writing.

“I shouldn’t just make videos on my phone. The problem is I want to talk shit but then it gets picked up. Poor me!” she said on WWHL. “But then he was like, ‘It was true. In fact, it was funny.’ That’s my Elon [impression]. “

Fineman suspected that Musk flipped through the script’s pages too fast, which is why he didn’t find the bit funny at first.

“[He] was like, ‘I did not laugh, not once.’ But then when you perform it, it’s funny, sir,” she said.

The comedian recently said she had “no regrets” when it came to naming him as the celeb who made her cry. Her comment came after critics accused him of doing a Nazi salute at President Donald Trump‘s inauguration.

“Remember when i got in trouble for calling out mr nazi salute? Ya no regrets,” she wrote on her Instagram story on Jan. 21, per The Daily Beast.

Watch What Happens Live airs Sunday through Thursdays at 10 p.m. ET on Bravo. New episodes are available to stream the next day on Peacock.
