Kevin Costner mourns Whitney Houston’s death while celebrating his 70th birthday

Kevin Costner remembered the late Whitney Houston on his 70th birthday.

The actor took to his Instagram Story Saturday to share a throwback photo of himself and the “I Will Always Love You” songstress behind the scenes of their 1992 film, “The Bodyguard.”

The photo was originally shared on Houston’s Instagram page — which still operates posthumously through her estate — and showed the two stars posing alongside the singer’s hairstylist.

“Happy birthday to Kevin Costner!” the caption of the post read. “A behind the scenes photo from ‘The Bodyguard’ with Kevin, Whitney and Ellin La Var, Whitney’s hair stylist for the film.”

Costner reposted the photo, writing, “This photo reminds me of how lucky I am to be getting another birthday. We lost such a light when we lost Whitney.”

The “I Have Nothing” singer died in 2012 after she accidentally drowned in a bathtub while under the influence of cocaine. She was 48.

Houston’s body was discovered in the bathroom of a Beverly Hills, Calif., hotel. There was no foul play involved, per the coroner’s report.

Xanax, marijuana, Benadryl and Flexeril were also found in her system. The effects of atherosclerotic heart disease also contributed to the Grammy winner’s death.

“Chances are, had she not had the pre-existing heart disease and cocaine use, she may not have drowned,” Craig Harvey, the Los Angeles County Chief Coroner Investigator, said at the time.

Bobby Brown, who was married to Houston from 1992 to 2007, previously claimed Nick Gordon was responsible for deaths of the singer and their daughter, Bobbi Kristina Brown.

During an episode of “Red Table Talk” in April 2021, the rapper alleged Gordon, who died from a heroin overdose in 2020, gave his ex-wife and their daughter the drugs that killed them.

“He was the only one there with both situations with my ex-wife and my daughter, and they both died the same way,” Bobby, now 55, claimed.

Bobbi Kristina, the former couple’s only child, had benzodiazepine and several other drugs in her system when she died in 2015 at age 22.

She was found unresponsive in a bathtub at her Georgia home.

Prior to her death, Bobbi Kristina received hospice care at several different facilities and was even put in a medically induced coma.
