The Village People, performers of Trump rally staples like “Macho Man” and “YMCA,” are set to bring those songs to the nation’s capital as part of President-elect Trump’s inauguration festivities.
The disco group will perform at Trump’s “victory rally” on Sunday at Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C., and at the Liberty Inaugural Ball, one of three major galas being held Monday night as part of Trump’s inauguration, a spokesperson with Trump’s inaugural committee exclusively told The Hill.
Charlie Kirk, a conservative media personality and close Trump ally, previously said the group would appear at an inauguration weekend event hosted by his organization, Turning Point USA.
“Macho Man” and “YMCA” routinely blared from the speakers at Trump campaign rallies during his 2020 and 2024 campaign rallies. But it was in 2024 that Trump’s dancing to the tune of “YMCA” became a viral sensation, with athletes and politicians alike impersonating it.
In addition to the Village People, country music star Carrie Underwood will perform “America the Beautiful” as part of Monday’s inauguration ceremony at the Capitol.
