Real Housewives of Potomac star Karen Huger did not attend the Season 9 reunion taping held in New York City Jan. 9, and now fans will know why.
Huger’s team put out a statement to Bravo’s The Daily Dish, revealing Huger has entered a recovery facility.
“Karen made the important decision to enter a private recovery program, so was unable to attend the reunion taping today,” Huger’s manager Ryan Tresdale said in a statement. “She was fully supported in this choice. We stand behind Karen as she embarks on this meaningful journey and are proud of her for taking such a significant step forward in her personal growth.”
Though Huger wasn’t in attendance, Andy Cohen was joined by Huger’s longtime castmates for the Season 9 reunion: Gizelle Bryant, Mia Thornton, Ashley Darby, Dr. Wendy Osefo, Stacey Rusch and Kiearna Stewart.
Bravo shared a seating chart for the reunion on social media, which notably did not include Huger.
This news comes after Huger was convicted on multiple charges including DUI and DWI after she totaled her car in March 2024. She will be sentenced on Jan. 29.
Huger has discussed the accident on Season 9, though she once noted during a meeting with Bryant that she couldn’t share too many details about what happened because it’s considered a “legal matter.”
“While I cannot talk about things in detail since the case has not been adjudicated, I will say this: The injuries, thank God, are not life threatening. It’s my ribs and my ankle and that’s it. Thank God,” Karen said in a confessional on the show. “I know the value of life more now than ever.”
Huger also blamed her emotional state for the accident.
“I think everything that I’m going through contributed to my accident. Grief. Marriage problems,” she revealed on the show. “Everything has something to do with where I’m at emotionally right now which was the state I was in during that incident.”
A premiere date for the The Real Housewives of Potomac Season 9 reunion has not been announced yet.
