Severance is finally back for a second season almost three years after it first started airing, and episodes can’t seem to come fast enough.
The jaw-dropping Season 1 cliffhanger left viewers everywhere, celebrity fans included, screaming for more. After Mark, Helly, Irving, and Dylan orchestrated a jailbreak from the severed floor to make contact with the outside world in the bodies of their Outies, the show left us at Mark’s attempt to tell sister Devon that his Outie’s wife, Gemma, is not actually dead. Shouting, “SHE’S ALIVE!” the screen then cuts to black. Whew. Other revelations included how Irving’s Outie seems to also be investigating Lumon and its employees. He’s also created dozens of paintings of the same, mysterious dark hallway. Perhaps the biggest reveal of all, Helly R. is actually Helena Eagan– daughter of the current Lumon Industries CEO. Helena’s participation in the severance program is a publicity stunt at Helly R.’s expense.
Like before, it looks like audiences are in for more questions than answers in the upcoming season. Why is Mark so important to Lumon? Why is there a literal child on the severed floor? WHAT is with all the pineapples?
New episodes of Severance premiere Fridays on Apple TV+. If you’re between episodes and looking for more sci-fi or anxiety-inducing binges, we’ve got you covered with 7 more series bound to keep you on your toes.

Photo: Apple TV+ In the dystopian future, humans live underground in a giant, hundred plus story silo to survive the toxic conditions of the outside world. Juliette Nichols (Rebecca Ferguson) is an engineer appointed to be the next sheriff. In her new role, Juliette discovers conspiracies, corruption and that the strict rules implemented to keep people safe, might all be lies. Along the same lines as Severance, the inhabitants of the Silo have no recollection of life outside the metal container. Any history or artifact depicting life in the real world is destroyed. Audiences begin to discover the mysteries of the Silo along with the characters as the show progresses. The complete first two seasons are available to binge now on Apple TV+. Good news, you don’t have to worry about the story never being concluded, because the show is already renewed for season 3 and 4.

Photo: Kailey Schwerman/SHOWTIME If you haven’t already seen Yellowjackets, this is the time to start. A high school girls soccer team is forced to survive in the wilderness after their plane crashes en route to a tournament. With a group of teens alone in the wild, things become very “Lord of the Flies” like…and cannibalistic. The point of view switches between the aftermath of the crash and the lives of the now adult survivors. Throughout the changing timeline, we discover who died in the woods and the lingering consequences of the brutal survival tactics. You’re left to ponder if there are supernatural forces at play, or is the “evil” simply the minds of teenage girls. There’s more good news! Once you’re hooked, Season 3 is right around the corner premiering February 14 on Paramount+.

Photo: Everett Collection In this futuristic reality, the hottest new household appliance is introduced– uncannily human AI robots called “synths.” The British series follows the complex relationships between different synths and their owners when the robots begin to act more like humans. The tagline also reads a lot like one of the newest sci-fi android films of the year, Companion.
