A 14-year-old Tennessee girl survived for most of a week over Christmas in some woods, after a creep who met her in a video game and used her for sex found out her age and ditched her there with a tent and some supplies, according to authorities.
Alexander Materne, 28, was pulled from a Christmas day family gathering by sheriff’s deputies and admitted to abandoning the teen after the pair engaged in sexual acts, according to the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office
The girl, who has not been named, was found healthy on Christmas Day after the alleged perv showed deputies where he ditched her with a tent, food, and water two days earlier.
”You can’t make this stuff up. It’s a Christmas miracle that she was found safe. This could’ve ended badly,” Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff Gerald Sticker said, according to CBS.
Materne first met the 14-year-old girl while online gaming and absconded her from her house on Dec. 23 — bringing the minor to his St. Rose, Louisiana home, according to the release.
While at Materne’s home the pair engaged in sexual acts — at which time the girl revealed her age to the 28-year-old, the news release reports.
Materne then packed a tent, food, and water and dropped the young girl off in the wilds of the Louisiana wilderness in the Tangipahoa Parish — and then went to celebrate Christmas with his family, the sheriff’s office said.
When the young girl was missing for an extended period of time during — her concerned family learned of the relationship between her and the older man.
The family reached out to family members of Materne and were able to get in contact with people who were at the Christmas party.
Sheriff’s deputies crashed that family Christmas shindig and forced Materne to show them where he dropped off the girl, according to the release.
The 14-year-old was found in good health and taken to a hospital for further examination.
The sheriff’s office lauded the actions of the girl’s parents.
“They were the key to all of this,” Sticker said. “I’m telling you if they want a job, I’ll hire both of these parents as investigators.
Materne was booked on one count of Contributing to the Delinquency of a Juvenile and one count of Aggravated Kidnapping of a Child.
