Zach Wilson’s mom celebrates QB’s ‘fresh start’ with Broncos

The only person more excited about Zach Wilson’s trade to the Broncos than the QB himself might just be his mother, Lisa Wilson.

The now-former Jets quarterback was traded Monday, a little less than two months after general manager Joe Douglas told reporters that he granted Wilson permission to seek a trade.

Lisa shared several posts on her Instagram story reacting to the news, which included sharing a photoshopped image of Wilson in a Broncos jersey.

“Excited for a fresh new start. Let’s go!” Lisa captioned the post, along with blue and orange heart emojis.

In another post, Lisa shared that she was having lunch “with my boy before he heads off to Denver.”

The football mom and social media influencer later shared a video of the family home in Utah, with orange and blue balloons all over the outside of the house and two new Broncos flags on lamp posts at the edge of the front of the property.

“Surround yourself with people [that] love you, cheer for you and want you to succeed,” she wrote alongside the video.

Michael Wilson, Zach Wilson’s father, was also photographed in a Broncos No. 11 jersey — the number currently worn by QB Ben DiNucci.

The trade on Monday is a fresh start for both sides, as the Jets can now move away from trying to mold Wilson into their future quarterback and Wilson will get the chance to develop with another organization after things in New York just never panned out.

The Jets went 12-21 in the games the former No. 2 pick in 2021 started.

In his time with the Jets, Wilson completed 566 passes for 6,293 yards, 23 touchdowns and 25 interceptions, while rushing for 498 yards and five touchdowns.

Wilson, along with a seventh-round pick, was sent to Denver in exchange for a sixth-round pick.
